I don't know what the hell is going on here.
This book has so many issues, the writing is clunky at times, the plot is predictable or too melodramatic, don't even get me started on the embarrassing stereotyping of ethnic minorities and misrepresentation of BDSM...
But.... BUT....
I was so freaking hooked that I ended up reading till the small hours of the morning, resulting in me oversleeping and missing my morning meeting.
What is more, I can't wait for the next part.

I really enjoyed this. Colt was amazingly fucked up and sweet at the same. Beo was sweet and endearing. I plan on recommending this to my friends. I can't believe I waited so long to read this.

My favorite quote: "I never knew fairies could ride so much cock."

3.75 stars.

When I first found this book on GR, after reading some of the reviews I thought it was a dark romance. Don't ask me why but I went to this story with this mindset so maybe that's why a lot of things didn't bothered me in the slightest.

This is the story of Colt, an asshole. And cute Beo, a sweetheart.
Cold is dominant, rude and a even heartless. He does a lot of bad things and he doesn't care about anyone but himself. He had a real bad childhood so now he tries to assert his dominance by being the strongest guy in the room by any means necessary.
When Colt Sees Beo for the first time his life is instantly changed. He wants Beo and finds a peace he has never known around him.

Beo is selfless, sweet and he's hiding something big. That's why he is reluctant to accept Colt advances. But in the end he caves and this two find something more with each other.

Is it love? Is it obsession? Can Colt put his demons aside and trust Beo? Time is running out.

I enjoyed this book. I like the story and liked I said, I thought this was dark and when it wasn't I was honestly happy.
This book is hard and packed full of BDSM.

Why not 4 stars?
There were some other POVs that I found annoying, I think those characters are getting their own stories but hearing their voices made me uncomfortable because I felt like I was watching the second half of a football (I refuse to call it soccer) game and the score is 5-3. What's going on??

Colt is a Dom he is apparently very good but I don't understand how!! At the beginning of the book he basically blackmails a guy for a blowjob. Isn't BDSM about trust? Isn't a dom supposed to be respectful of the other persons choices? I get the blowjob wasn't a D/s thing but it still was wrong because it showed Colt had no respect for free will. I wouldn't trust Colt with my dog much less with my safety or pleasure. Him being a renown Dom doesn't make sense.

With everything said, this book does have a nice HEA.
I'm a bit curious about the next book but I've read about what the MCs are into and yeah.. No. So I'm not sure if I'm quitting this series or not but this was a good start.

This story had me hooked pretty much from the beginning. I love reading about arseholes getting cut down at the knees, and the intelligence of the person who does the cutting (figuratively of course - although I can do literal, but there's none of that in this story). Beo was just perfect in the way he cut through the bullshit that was Colt's attitude and entitlement.

The characters were both solid from the start and I found them to be exceptionally well developed.

This story had me in tears quite a bit. I've said it before, and I'll repeat myself here, if an author can effortlessly make me weep, they get 5 stars from me.

I was completely invested in every aspect of the story, and thoroughly enjoyed the secondary supporting character point of views. It made the story well rounded and complete (although of course I want to read more from this world).

I loved the growling. God, give me growling, and dirty talk and I burst into flames.

Definitely high heat level for me.

I didn't find the story overly angst even though it was a high angst story. I didn't want to throw anything, or kill off anyone in my imaginary revised version. It was perfect for what it was.

This is going on my Re-read pile, and I would really love a release date for the next story.

I'm not sure how I feel about this on honestly. It was an engrossing read, well written and interesting. But the characters weren't very likable. Which isn't a requirement but makes it weird. Colt was psychotic. I don't know how he ever made it through the supposedly "rigorous" application process of The Bark. Though I think we're supposed to blame Beo for the shift in his personality. Martin was creepy as heck and it is NEVER addressed. But at least Beo was man enough to withstand his creepiness without feeling guilty. Beo was the best character, but even he had irksome moments particularly withholding his secret. All this sounds more negative than I intend because I did enjoy it to a degree. And I am kind of intrigued to read the next book.
