A serious case of Dejávu with this book. It’s got excellent characters, and the story is fun, but if you’ve read Jurassic Park then after you finish this you probably scratch your head going wait.... isn’t this just that with new people on a different island?! For me the similarities out weighed the differences, and it felt lazy storytelling wise. 3/5 from me. But thankfully my favorite character from Jurassic is back Ian Malcom #hubbahubba (fictional crushes are cool right?!?) this book is still worth a read, but don’t be surprised if it tastes like leftovers.

Mr. Crichton sure knows how to write a death in which someone is eaten alive by dinosaurs
