A beautifully written work about historical events that I previously knew little about. A very interesting story, with a rich setting. The descriptive language in this book made me feel like I could see, hear, smell, taste, and feel everything. Definitely recommend for lovers of historical fiction looking to change things up a bit!

A fantastic work of historical fiction. It was very educational about the Lucknow uprising in 1857 against the English East India Company and British troops seeking revenge for the Cawnpore massacre. Well-researched. My full review is here: http://bit.ly/amahsilkwingedpigeons

A beautifully written book that portrays a side of history not much talked about. Sometimes a difficult read due to the violence inherent in the Lucknow uprisings but a story worth reading.
