I really like the character dynamics but the mystery itself was rather... dull.

I discovered this author during the lockdown last year & I am still crying tears of gratitude. It’s a historical mystery romance book and I did not realize how much I needed this genre in my life! I love love love this book. I legit went on a binge read spree with this genre & read all the books by CS Harris & Sherry Thomas too!
This book is set in 1812 London, UK and is part 5 of the Wrexford and Sloan Series by Andrea Penrose. In this regency era, Lady Charlotte Sloan has a secret identity. She is the famed satirical artist skewering the London Elites with her wit. And the Earl of Wrexford becomes her target in the first book, when he was found near a murdered clergyman. The Earl of Wrexford is a brilliant but bored scientist and when he figures out the identity of the artist, he teams up with Charlotte to investigate the murder and eventually they develop a deep relation of mutual trust & respect.
In this book, Sloan & Wrexford have teamed up to solve yet another crime in the regency era! I had been waiting for this book for so long and now that it is here, I just don’t want it to end & I’m taking all the sweet time in the world to finish it. I’m the same with ice creams or chocolates lol!
Let me know if you’ve read this book or genre before!
