This book was a quick, beautiful and wild ride. I am so curious as to where the memoir aspect blended into fiction. What is the truth? Regardless of my curiosity, it is clear that isn't the point.

Poetic, odd, easy to blaze through and leaves you wondering.

Read for my reading around the world challenge: Canada. Very productive, but so challenging and sad. Please check content warnings, but it is a good book.

Tanya Tagaq is a master of the English language. This book is less novella and more prose poetry, with each bit of scene interspersed with poems. Even when describing scene, the imagery is so fierce and vivid that it leaves lingering visions within my mind. A challenging read, but one where every single sentence made me have to stop, look up, and blink in wonder and horror.
