This book is everything a biography shouldn't be.
A good biography not only teaches you about a person and the world in which they lived, but it should help you to understand the person and feel as if you know them.
This book spends pages clearing the hero of controversies and then briefly summerizes anything that could be considered interesting. In a way that makes one wonder why Boliviar is special at all.
Would not recommend

I read this because I had heard of him but not known much beyond his name and being known as the liberator in much of South America. Schools in Mexico and US don't cover him or South American independence movements in their history classes, so I was just hoping to learn some about their history and in that it delivered. I definitely feel like I learned about not just Bolivar, but the 6 countries he worked to liberate and their struggles for independence and self governance.
