This book follows Alice, who has been happily single for two years. She decides it’s time to take the plunge back into dating, reaching out to her reading group to meet some new people when it turns out love has been looking her in the face the whole time.

This book is full of heart ache and hearts healing. It ropes you in at the beginning and doesn’t let go at the end, it is my first book from Jo Platt but definitely the first of many!

this book was positively boring and disappointing… im very upset about the turn out of this.
there is just so much uninteresting dialogue that has no substance whatsoever. i think its fine to add in the mundane parts of a conversation within a book to make it flow better, but WHOLE conversations were full of it.
there were also so many characters that it was really hard to keep up with who is who. this made it very difficult to actually care about the characters and their connections to each other.
overall, extremely disappointing. i skim-read a few parts of it and it is so unmemorable. i will not be reading again. ☹️

Say hello to this little Half Price Books clearance shelf find. I love books and TV shows with tight knit friend groups because they remind me of my (and everybody else's) comfort show Friends. This book had that + a slow burn, friends-to-lovers trope. There were a lot of characters, so it did take me a few chapters to figure out who was who, but once I had that down, having so many people in the story truly did make it more fun because of the balance between personalities in the group. The author got a few laughs out of me, one of which being a horrendous date that she depicted, but it was also a horrendous date that I could for sure see myself agreeing to go on, so the entire time I was reading it I was picturing myself in that situation. This book won't stick with me, but it was an entertaining read.

Wavered between a 3 and a 4. Very predictable but also entertaining and easy to read.
