Maybe it's because I've read so much realistic fiction lately (and that is NOT my thing, just like Historical Fiction), but this just wasn't a hit for me. I can see the emotional impact of it. Maybe I separated myself from the book because I know what Oscar's grief feels like and I don't want to deal with it today. Either way, I did not connect emotionally with this book, leaving me feeling rather meh about the whole thing.
