I would have shut this book if I read the word "loamy" one more time. Four mentions in less than 50 pages. Seriously. Five total. Thankfully, Sophie Jordan must have realized a thesaurus existed at last.

Nope.Just nope.

I was so excited to read this since it's a retelling.I LOVE retellings.
So,I wasn't missing this one and did you guys look at the cover? It's so pretty

It started off great for about 10 0r 20 pages and it was slow but I knew it was just the beginning so I waited. And waited.Waited.And when I finally thought,"Okay, this is it.I think something is about to happen",I was left unsatisfied.

This book had all the so called tropes of YA which I read many times,so nothing was that original. And the world building is not that good too.I like the concept of total world being enclosed by the eclipse but again read so many books with that plot.

Things I didn't like:
-> The main thing that bothered me is the portrayal of the MC's disability.Which when it was revealed was not something I was fond of.
-> Fowler did nothing but growl and be cold
->Luna was nothing but your average YA heroine, you know, the one who lusts after the boy and feels dejected when he is not returning your affection

And the thing at the end,I saw that coming too.*shakes head*

I was very excited to read this because this reminded me of Tangled and I live for those Disney movies. But sadly, this is not for me.

Thank you to the publisher for providing a copy of the book.

I felt as though this book was mildly fast paced. I wish it would have slowed a bit but it did grasp my attention to where i wanted more what was going to happen and how. It was weird reading about the main character and her being blind but it actually helped you understand the surroundings and world better because of the imagery used. Overall great book cannot wait for the next series.

There will be spoilers... because honestly theres kinda a big one thats hard not to talk about.

hmmm. How to rate this... I enjoyed it. I did. Kinda.. It was a little boring at times... most of the time actually. I wanted to like Luna. I tried really hard but her character was so freaking unrealistic. She is blind. I was like thats going to take this book up a notch because up until that point I was bored stiff. But then I just kept getting annoyed that she could do things like smell if someone was naked. Is that a real thing? It just seemed unrealistic that she had ZERO problems. It made perfect sense when she was at home and in an environment that she has been in her whole life but when she left that.. I don't know. I have issues walking around my own freaking house.

Another thing that really kind of pissed me off was that 75% of this book was kinda pointless.. They were wondering in the woods one way but then she decides to go back the other way and he follows. So they end up back where they started!! UGH. I felt like I wasted my time. Because nothing was learned. Not really. Sure there was a kiss or two and Fowler decides that he cares about her but ehh.. not enough reason for me to read a book.

But the absolutely worst thing about this book is at the very end. In the last 5 minutes of the book. Fowler tells Luna something important about himself and she freaks out on him! She turns into a huge bitch and basically pushes him away. She has spent the whole freaking book all over this guy, he has saved her life multiple times, he has proven over and over again that he is kinda an amazing guy and he has ONE little itty bitty thing against him ( something he can't help at all btw) and she is ready to throw him to the wolves. I hate her. If this would have happened earlier in the book I would have stopped reading. I was so mad.

I know I just ranted a bunch but I am glad I read it. I was entertained. Will I be jumping up for joy for the next book? No. Will I read it? Yes.

I will start by saying that if the world was really like this I don't know that I would survive, darkness has descended and there is only a small amount of day. Nothing grows well without the sun and there are creatures that roam the land killing pretty much anything they can catch. Luna was born the day darkness fell over the land, to the King and Queen of Relhok, and was whisked away as the chancellor murdered her father and mother taking over the kingdom. For many years she has lived in a tower deep in the woods, being taken care of by the couple the saved her. But her tower has been discovered and she must leave. As she travels with a boy, Fowler who she saved, she learns about how bad things really are and realizes that she needs to do something. But finding out your companion is the son of the man that killed your parents can leave you a little distracted.

I wasn't sure about this book just because it doesn't have the highest rating, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! I haven't read any Rapunzel retellings before, and this one was really fun with a few good twists to keep me hooked! Picking up the next book ASAP, even though it's time for me to go to sleep.
