My friend and I went to see the movie yesterday (which is highly recommended by the way) so I knew that upon returning, I’d have to read the graphic novel 🥹

Harrowing but also necessary, White Bird is so well done. The movie made me cry a lot and the graphic novel brought many tears to my eyes 🥲

This book moved me to tears multiple times. The parallels between the Second World War, Trump denying refugees into America and separating families into cages, and the current Israeli–Palestinian conflict is not lost on me. We have forgotten. We are repeating history. It is deeply upsetting.
