In the COVID world this was exactly what I needed to read, a delightful wintery story set in the Scottish Islands. Granted I read this out of order (I bought my wife this but she already read it, goodreads did not update appropriately, rather than return it I decided to give it a go and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT) I now want to go back and read the first two. For those who want an easy read check it out the Mure series.

A bittersweet visit to the fictional island of Mure during Christmas time.

Such a lovely Christmas story, was so great to read about all the wonderful characters from this series again. It was romantic and funny and very sad and heartbreaking at the same time. Another great read by Jenny Colgan.

Didn’t like this one as much as the others in this series. (Or at least the first one. Can’t remember loving the second one either.) The ups and downs of the plot were a bit overwrought and the way it pulled through at the end seemed like a cheat.

2010-talet; when chick lit went woke.

I liked the last 50 pages or so, but thought the beginning was a little redundant.
