Solidified my view of McGinnis as one of the best YA contemporary writers working rn. If you're a Courtney Summers fan, you'll love this. It didn't have the unique, totally batshit unpredictable thrust of Female of the Species, but the prose is so great, and the narrative is so realistically disturbing. Excited to read more of her!
