(review CW: infertility)
Let me just start by saying this is my favorite Chloe Liese book so far! Granted, I've only read 3 but this one was just so good. I wasn't sure about it because I've never read a "marriage in crisis" book and also because how can a book about an already married couple have tension/banter BUT it delivers SO MUCH TENSION. This book had me on the verge of tears for the majority of the book (in a good way) and I really enjoyed reading it.
Another reason why I enjoyed it so much was how relatable it was to me. As someone with an anxiety disorder and who also dealt with watching everyone around you get pregnant while it's not happening for you this book hit very close to home, and I really felt for Freya and Aiden and all the things they were going through. Their growth throughout this book was so refreshing to read, and I loved their relationship.
ALSO, this book was just re-published by Berkley with a bonus chapter so even if you've read this book you might want to look again 👀!

Bonus song: “Grow as we go” by Ben Platt!!!!
Age rating: 17+ (5 ish brief spicy scenes, 2/5🌶️)
This was such a difficult yet sweet and real marriage in trouble romance!! I loved how they all went on a family and all of the hijinks that occur when all of the Bergman family gets together!! Since it was marriage in trouble, I wasn’t sure if I was going to love it as much as the other books, but I was wrong!! This was so incredibly real and tender! The difficulties of mental health, specifically anxiety, and struggling to share the difficult truths with your spouse and how that can drive a wedge in a marriage. I love that even though they have difficult moments, they still constantly choose each other and want to put in the work to stay together. They go to marriage counseling as well!! I loved seeing them relearn what they loved about each other and truly “grow as we go” (song by Ben Platt that really applies here)! I also loved the real struggles of the side effects of anxiety meds (male ED) and how that can put a strain on intimacy! There were just so many realistic issues that appeared throughout the novel, and seeing them work through all of these issues TOGETHER, gave me so much joy and hope.
Also Freya is such a bad*ss curvy woman and I love her so much.
I also love how almost all of the men read romance novels, and discuss how they are literally the blueprint because yes exactly!! And we get to see so much of the previous couples throughout the series, but especially in this book, which I loved!!
