No Offense, by Meg Cabot

"No offense" to the author, but I could not get through this book. Despite the socially progressive sprinkles across the pages, there was a weird misogyny in the characters (more caricatures). The main female character was ditzy and naive, yet judgmental, controlling, and dismissive. And somehow felt the need to bolster a teenage boy's ego, letting him get away with really inappropriate behavior. The reporter was manipulative, the wealthy donor acted dumb as a rock, and the sheriff's daughter was obnoxious. This is intended to be a light read, I guess, but it's just shallow and boring.

This was such a cute audiobook! I really enjoyed this one, slightly more than the first book in the series. This had depth to it and just a plot that was fun! The romance that took place was very cute. I wasn’t a huge fan of Tabby’s story line, but I appreciate how it wove into the overall narrative!

This book was pretty cute. Not too bad. I thought it could've been better.

What a lovely book. I will admit the main character annoyed me a bit at the beginning, putting herself in situations and acting like she knew it all. But it really turned around and the leads actually act like adults. The setting and side characters were excellent; I wanted to live in this town! Would recommend!

It’s a lighthearted and quick read. As someone who read many of Meg Cabot’s books as a teen, I can see every bit of it in this book.
