Man... this book took me a while to get into, but after about the first half I was really hooked and I'm so glad I finished it. I love epistolary works and I found it to be an excellent example. Moody, descriptive, you could almost feel the salt of the see as you read it, see the clouds stretch over the horizon, dark and forboding.
The overall mystery (although it hardly feels right to call it that) of the book was very well done. Possible to see the clues of it as you read, but not so obvious that you might trip over it. I also loved the cyclical nature of it all, with Frank becoming his father, Anders once again planning to leave without a word. I dare to hope he goes with them in the end.
A beautiful dark and melancholy read.

Great start! Just wasn't the right format for me. Planning to revisit when the print edition is released in the US.
