I went into this book unsure that I could get on board with Hassen as a hero after what he did in the previous book, but this turned out to be one of my very favorite IPB stories. I think it worked for me because Maddie ends up being the driving force in their relationship and he gladly takes his lead from her. They get wild and freaky in the furs, yet even when he lets loose he does so for her pleasure, not to impose his will on someone else or to scratch his own itch. “If she does not want me to be controlled, I will not be. If she does not want me to be patient, I will be an animal with her.”

I also loved the way the author wasn’t afraid to upend the world as we knew it and radically change the playing field. She took big risks with this book that truly pay off further down the road. Without this book, the Icehome and upcoming Ice Planet Clones series could not exist.

Wow! This one absolutely threw me for a loop this one was so much more adventurous and challenging and dark and tense than the other books so many unexpected things happened that leave me feeling so curious and once more I fucking love that I’m nine goddamn books into this series and I’m still intrigued still having a good time still just everything. At first I didn’t like Maddie because she was a little too much like Liz but I do see the differences between the two characters and I do feel like Maddie grew on me as a person I loved seeing her vulnerability at certain points and her strength in others and her tenacity for everything and her the way she approaches life and just everything so fucking good.

How does Ruby manage to make me fall in love with every new couple?!! Glad to see Hassen get a bit of a redemption story - and a mate! Maddy is sassy as hell, too. This one had me on the edge of my seat more than the others because of a pretty big event. I’m very interested in seeing what it means for the story moving forward!
