I felt like this was rushed. The author tends to write shorter books, when she could really expand her world building and character development. I think it's a quick read for young readers (7th to 10th grade range). I do enjoy simple reads, but I was not a fanof this.

I was not at all prepared to feel as much as I did while reading this book. Truth be told, I almost stopped reading halfway through after putting it down for a few days too long. However I was determined to give it another chance and was immediately glad I did. I was not expecting that plot twist at the end of the book though and I cried more than I expected to during this book. Why did nobody tell me?

Main plot was slow to build. Last few chapters made me want to keep reading!

It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst, I'm intrigued enough to read the next one though
