I liked a few of these stories enough to bump the rating up a bit but all in all I just didn't find them engaging enough. For me, it shouldn't feel like a drag to read something so short

An enjoyable collection of short stories that reminded me a bit of The Twilight Zone. The author does a fabulous job at ensnaring the reader quickly and devising intriguing twists.

This collection expertly tapped into paranoia and fear with Buzzati's simple and concise storytelling. I think I had just overhyped the collection in my head, so I was a little underwhelmed overall.

My favorite stories in the collection were: Oversight, And Yet They Are Knocking at Your Door, The Slaying of the Dragon, and The Egg. But my all time favorite was The Enchanted Coat, which I found incredibly clever.
