I wanted to like this book since I was reading it for my book club, but I couldn't stand the author's woman-hating attitude & behavior.

It's hard to figure out what category to put this into. I am not really questioning its validity, but merely feeling in my gut if any of the messages in the book feels right for me. Some certainly didn't, some did. My curiosity is sparked for sure and I will most likely read the rest of the series.

I love this series. To be honest, I am not about to try to say any of it "actually" happened. But does it really matter when so much truth lies within the words of these pages? Real or not, I don't care. It is a fun series to read especially in nature and will totally awaken you to alternative ways of living.

I'm not sure how to feel about this book. I forced myself to get through it. At some points, I wanted to toss it out a window, at others, I was happy to have it. I'm glad it has helped and inspired so many people; I'm most impressed with all the eco-villages cropping up in my home country. But as a Russian, I know the kind of BS that Russians can either spew or accept and I am hard pressed to accept this book into the non-fiction section of the library.

I hear the rest of the series is amazing. I have only read one book so far. It's pretty good. Definitely opens your mind to very new ideas and thoughts. Some of the things in this book really made me think about life - which is hard to do because I feel like I already have such an open mind. I constantly read books that challenge my philosophy and current beliefs. This book is a must read - if only to just make you think of life in a completely different way. Anastasia, you are pretty awesome.

There is no other book or series out there like Anastasia of the Ringing Cedar series. Anastasia is basically a modern day female Jesus figure (that is apparently real) living out there somewhere in the taiga of Siberia. But she "exists for whom want her to exist". Hmmmmm. I did really like her insights on nature though- this might be an interesting read to bring if you are looking for more insight on how humans relate to nature and are interested in hearing different perspectives on how we live as a society.
