A little slow to start, but once the plot picks up, I had a hard time putting it down. Love the way Briggs handles magic.

I do love some Anna and Charles! I really enjoyed this entry in the Alpha & Omega series. We get some backstory into Leah, Bran's prickly and unpleasant mate who has been barely tolerated by anyone in either the A&O or Mercy Thompson series. I'm not sure if I totally buy the redemptive arc of Bran and Leah's relationship, but getting her backstory was interesting but YO super traumatic. Like, CW for many, many things (I included them here in the CWs). The Big Bad in this one was extremely mysterious and extremely creepy, and the featuring of music as weapon was chilling.

Did I cry during the epilogue??? MAYBE. Can't WAIT to see what comes next in the series! 👀
