This never grabbed my attention. Neither in norstion nor story. I'm sure I ended just as the story was kick-starting, but a little too late for me.

Hmm. This was... something, I guess. Honestly I don't think I enjoyed the beginning much; it was too vague. Too many things un-remembered, too many questions unanswered intentionally just to drag things out. I mostly kept reading it because I wanted to know what the heck was actually happening, which at least did finally get explained, mostly. Honestly just an... odd little book. I didn't hate it, but I don't know if I liked it much either. Sort of Addams Family vibes except everyone is kind of selfish and awful and violent, idk. It was... a book, lol.

Checked the content warnings and other reviews, this does not sound like a book for me.

What Big Teeth had so much potential. I was excited to read more about a family of werewolves who delve into esoteric magical arts. We end up following Eleanor, a naive protagonist who unnecessarily catastrophises events. After spending many years away from home, she returns and wants her family to love and accept her but she looks at their lifestyle with distaste and refuses to communicate properly with them.
Grandma Persephone and Margaret’s magical escapades with tarot cards and bird guts are the only shining lights in this novel.

love love love love love. one of those books that just really work for you in every way and so you have a hard time describing why. If you like creepy, strange horror, Bunny, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, the Adaams family, I think you will like this
