Really more like 3.5 stars. Art is great, just like the Fables series. The trouble is when you make your main character a sexist jerk, you've got to do a lot to make the story great. And maybe it is just it pales in comparison to the rest of the Fables series, but this just isn't as good.

The Jack of Fables stories have been good for filling the Fables-shaped hole in my heart now I’ve finally finished the main arc. I can’t say I really like any of the characters other than Gary, though, who’s a sweetheart. The Fable sisters are pretty badass, but I don’t feel at all attached to them. Babe the blue ox is definitely the true star of this series!

For what it’s worth, I like Jack Frost. I think he and MacDuff are super cool. Also, I think it’s fitting that everyone died arbitrarily at the end. The series is so chaotic and random that it felt fitting. I mean, were people really expecting a meaningful, loaded ending after a series full of fun and nonsensical content like that one?

Much prefer the main Fables arc and most of the spin-offs, but Jack of Fables has still been a cool read.

This series is just brilliant. The plot is fun, the art is amazing, and it just keeps getting better the more I read it. If you're not sure you'd like graphic novels, but want the best, then start here. It's just so beautiful. I am more impressed with this story every time I read it.

This was awesome! I loved all the different fairytale creatures. We have the more traditional beings like Snow White, but we also have less well known (or what I wouldn't generally think of as being fairytale creatures) like Bluebeard and the various Kipling jungle creatures. I liked these more real world versions of characters! This is definitely a darker tale, but I loved this take. The first part of this collection had an interesting mystery, and the second introduced us to more of the general background/setting. I enjoyed the art style and really want to keep going with the series.
