I enjoyed this book but, I could tell what the secrets where going to be before they were revealed. I enjoyed the dancing theme in the story.

An addictive read, even though it has some problems. I am a huge fan of Girl in Translation, and this one just doesn't measure up. That said, I stayed up too late two nights in a row devouring this book. I enjoyed the (admittedly predictable) romance, and the ugly duckling into a swan transformation of the main character. The story's traditional Chinese culture and medicine elements were quite interesting.

It was just okay.

It felt as though it lived slowly and the writing was a bit utilitarian.

It covered interesting topics and I liked the characters.

Too slow and descriptive.  Terrible opening with very little to draw the reader in.  Nail in the coffin was when I jumped ahead and found the same excruciatingly slow and decrivtive style continues.

Wow what a great book! The heart of the characters, the storytelling, the description of dance and Chinese tradition- captivating! My one criticism is that the ending felt a bit rushed compared to the rest of the book. But overall great!
