Personally the atmosphere and the mystery in this book were addictive. I couldn’t put this book down at all. The drama, the atypical found family, and time travel all made for a great experience. (P.s. if you don’t like cozy atmosphere and detailed descriptions this won’t be for you)

a riveting and beautiful story about traveling through time and recognizing the power of love and family. i was completely engrossed with this book the moment i picked it up, especially because it was a mystery that i was so eager to solve while reading it. the plot was relatively easy to follow and i grew to like all of the characters, especially esther and june. i will say that i was often confused about how the time stuff worked, and despite explanations provided, i still felt lost afterwards but decided to continue letting this story carry me away. the genre of this book also seemed to blend a lot into different ones that i wasn’t expecting; i had expected it to be a magical realism novel and instead found it to be more like a mystery/romance. also, the ending fell a bit short for me and seemed kind of rushed—especially after that MASSIVE buildup to the big reveal. overall, i really enjoyed reading this book and loved the descriptions of the scenery that young emphasized throughout the story. 4/5 stars!

I definitely enjoyed the pacing, descriptions and concept of this novel! Magical realism that flirts with Southern gothic on a flower farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains with a smattering of endearing characters is lovely. The central mysteries of family secrets that bend time kept me guessing and making notes on theories. I’m not 100% sure it stuck the landing as far as the explanation and exposition go, but I am pretty partial to a particular model of time travel and this book got a bit creative. I’m willing to overlook a couple plot holes for the vibes though. Great audiobook listen! The narrator’s accents really helped fill out the beautiful setting and characters.
