okay, they were so cute. i thought the love story was great but i almost wish there was more magic?? like i feel like this was marketed almost as a fantasy but there aren't many elements of that. i did really enjoy this all-in-all

Marina never ever misses. Every book of theirs I read feels like it has to be my most favorite. The hurt/comfort in this one is really intense and handled with perfect care. Roman has a special place in my heart now. 🥺 Spice-wise it was very slow burn, which was necessary and tender.

This is exactly what I like to read to relax. Such a sweet little slow burn, I loved it.

This was nice. The story was pretty sweet, straight forward romance.

There were so pretty heavy triggers and no warnings at the beginning of the book but none of them were really described in detail.

I'll definitely be reading more by this author.

Sweet, Emotional Story

This was way more emotional than I originally thought it was going to be. But let me back up a bit first and say that I LOVE when authors reinvent the wheel for magic systems and world building in general, and this book is no different. Now, moving onto the hard stuff. The trauma Roman endured was heartbreaking and reading his POV and Tyler’s BEFORE Tyler realized what was going on was gut wrenching. And when Tyler put the pieces together and realized the truth, it was a relief but also grief ridden for me because I could feel that he was blaming himself. Marina does a good job of getting you as the reader to feel what she wants you to know, not just telling you what’s going on. Once everyone knew how to help Roman, he began to (slowly) bloom like a flower in the sun. This story was so excellent and wonderfully written.
