Как просто стало писать про Локи: темные волосы, длинное лицо и можно дальше не уточнять, все всё равно представляют его с лицом сами-знаете-кого.

This was a great read. I thought this book was better than the first book, Gameboard of the Gods. The story was more developed. Also, I felt more of a connection to the characters. Justin and Mae were more interesting in this book, which I was actually really happy about. I hope the series continues to get better because I love Richelle Mead's writing style. That's the reason I loved the Vampire Academy and Bloodlines series because of her writing and her characters. The ending ended in a cliffhangerish sort of way, which makes me want the third book even more. I can't wait to see what happens next. I think the series will get better. Overall, an enjoyable read.

I didn’t think I would love another series as much as Vampire Academy but Richelle Mead proved me wrong. I was glued to the first book and the sequel, The Immortal Crown was even better. The plot is fast-paced and the romance has loads of unresolved sexual tension. I’m counting down the days til the next book because I could not get enough of Justin and Mae! The series is a fantastic mix of supernatural, science fiction, mystery, and romance!

After the first book of this series started off rather slow, I wondered if I would ever truly love this series as I have other Richelle Mead works. Happily, my fears have been laid to rest. The second book of the series was amazing. Like the first book, it is told in third person. While it is a little slow in the beginning, it quickly gains momentum. Mae and Justin are once agin thrown into danger as they go undercover into a hostile territory. Their chemistry is amazing; I am desperate for these two to finally realize they work best together. Mae continues to be the tough heroine. However, a softer side of her emerges as she searches for her missing niece. I also enjoyed the smaller side-story of Tessa as she uncovers possible religious involvement in politics. I hope there is more to her story in future books.

In true Richelle Mead style, there is an insane cliff hanger. The ending absolutely gutted me. I don't know how readers will be able to wait another 9+ months to see what happens to Mae and Justin.

I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a change of pace in the paranormal genre. It is unlike any other adult paranormal series.

I almost gave this book one star because we covered the span of a week in almost 400 pages. The last 30 pages were the most interesting in terms of how the gods play a role in their lives, but the plot twist for the ending was beyond unexpected and left me very frustrated with the book.
