This might be my favorite of the series. I really hope I don't have to wait long for the next arc! Also, I saw an ad in this volume for a Hilda Netflix series... intriguing.

I think this is my favorite out of the four (#2 is weirdly not at my library) I've read simply because it's fun and real and has things that kids who are adventurous and a little scrappy like Hilda would absolutely be concerned about. Like your mother sliding through a gap in what appears to be space time with you and ending up inside a troll mountain.

There's a bit where they're wandering the Stone Forest for what feels like days and Hilda is like...what if we're dead, and her mom is basically like...oh my god what if we're are dead??? but outwardly she's like hey Hilda stop saying crazy things we aren't dead it's chill and it just made me laugh so much.

Reading for a graphic novels challenge otherwise would have probably skipped it. The story isn't captivating enough.
Hilda becomes more annoying the further I get into the series. The ending was the best part.

A great story about the lessons parents and children have to teach each other.

And a surprisingly intriguing ending for a little comic like this!
