Zaynebs resiliance and strength is beautiful I love her so much i can’t even put it into words

Adam my sweet precious Adam your essence must be light itself love you to bits

The themes evoked in this novel hurt but also made me feel seen in a way that I have hardly ever felt in a story before

THIS WAS A MARVEL!

1) the romance is the cutest and most adorable thing ever. I LOVE THEM. they are so innocent and careful, i wanna hug them and never let go.

2) complicated family relationships and good friends? count me in cause that what i am all about.

3) for me, a white european woman this was very educational. in my personal life i don’t really get exposed to islam (because,,, i live in a small town in germany), and it was very interesting to see the religion from a different viewpoint (than the average historical european/american view). this also taught me a lot about islamophobia and activism, and fighting for justice.

it was a pleasure to listen to this audiobook.

This book was so so special to me in the way I felt so represented and how unapologetically muslim the mc’s were. I loved how much peace Islam brought Adam how stories about the prophet (saws) sparked a light in Zaynab to drive her to action on things she is passionate about. They were both such strong individuals and I absolutely adored them. The romance was absolutely beautiful and halal. I’m so glad this book exists and I was able to read it .
Adam & Zayneb MY BELOVEDS <333

Love from A-Z is more than a love story. It was educational look at racism, Muslim culture and brought awareness to M.S. in a way that was engaging and upbeat in all the appropriate points!

The characters were a joy to read about and the ending was wonderfully impactful.

100% would recommend this book and now I wanna write a marvels and oddities journal.

4.5/5 ⭐️!

This book was unapologetically true and Islamic and I loved it so much. I love how the author gave us diverse perspectives, from our main characters, to those who converted, and heartfelt allies. I loved seeing the beautiful verses of the Quran and hadiths and I rarely see in other books.
The Muslim love story is something I strive for and it made me so so happy to read. The other side of this story, with struggles Zayneb went through, I related to so much. And Adam's side touched my heart. Both stories side by side and together gave me so much emotions, I was crying(happy and sad tears) throughout much of the book.
I don't know if my review made any sense to how happy this book made me, but I recommend this book 1000000%

my problem with most ya contemporaries is that the dialogues do not seem real. most adults have no idea how teenagers talk, and throw outdated pop culture references that no one would use in real life. this book wasn’t the exception. however, i really liked it. it was exactly what i needed right now.

Love from A to Z is a super sweet book but it also covers some really tough topics. From Multiple Sclerosis diagnoses to dealing with Islamophobia this book doesn’t hide from real life whilst dealing with budding young love.

Content warnings: Islamophobia, chronic illness, death of a family member, grief, mentions of war, cultural appropriation

Zayneb gets suspended from school after a confrontation with a racist teacher so she leaves to go to Doha for Spring Break a week early. Whilst in the airport awaiting her transfer she locks eyes with a cute boy who is on her flight. After landing in Doha, her aunt takes her to a get together where she sees the boy again, whose name is Adam and is the son of a woman who was once Zayneb’s aunt’s best friend. Over the course of Spring Break Zayneb and Adam grow closer and Zayneb deals with how to act upon her anger about injustices.

I think one of the big standouts of this novel for me was that the racist aggressor wasn’t just some random guy or a nasty school bully but was a teacher. A person should expect their teacher to be unprejudiced and teach all students fairly regardless of background, but there’s a fair amount of teachers who aren’t like that. I think it’s important to shine a light on this and make sure people are aware that not all racism is in the form of blatant aggressions, but can be targeted micro-aggressions.
