I read a lot of reviews from readers who said they found this book boring and repetitive BUT I really enjoyed it. Yes the story takes place at the same time as the first but I enjoyed the character development and LOVED the cheesy ending.

An emotional read but a good one. I loved Gloria as a character and enjoyed reading her journey of healing and survival. I also liked Aldo as a character but overall I felt the book was slightly too long and rehashed too many scenes that were already in Pretend You’re Mine. I expected a lot of overlap because I knew this was a companion novel but it would literally feature the same scene but from Aldo or Gloria’s perspective but it never really added anything to it so a few times it felt repetitive. Because of how long it was, I felt this affected the pacing, it felt dragged out and then it was chapter 70 (like 90% in) when everything was hunky dory and THEN they decided to put another conflict in and they broke up for like 2 days? I wasn’t in to that at all but last minute break ups followed by a grovel and a quick reconciliation seem to be a trademark for Lucy Score. I just also need to say that the sex scenes once again were not great to me, they’re not bad at all but they do just always come across as very porn-y and there is never really any meaningful foreplay which I think hinders the emotional significance that the sex scenes are often supposed to have, especially in this story.
