This was absolutely fantastic. So many fairytale retellings with dark, DARK twists made it a great read for October although you could honestly read it any time. I also like the added mental health nod as the main character has OCD. I highly recommend this book if you like dark, fairytales!

I returned to this book having read it several years ago. I enjoyed it even more on the second read. Loss and fantasy intertwine in a tale of adventure, peril and personal connection as David faces nightmares, fairy tales and the realities of a life altering grief.

Very creative weaving and reimagining of several different fairy tales.

Really reminded me of A Tale Dark and Grim that I read recently. Seriously dark, twisted stuff in here. It was a bit predictable, but is a great story about stories and how they have a life of their own.
