I feel like if this was written a hundred years ago it would be addressed to god - Charlotte Geater is writing to an unnamed figure who watches her every move that is of course not real, but also is. The FBI agent is a personification of state surveillance, and the poetry is kind of a one-sided love story filled with yearning and the illusion of being seen and known.

I read this short pamphlet aloud over the phone with a close friend (which I highly recommend as a reading experience), and it really helped the slow reveal of the narrative across the poems. These poems feel like a modern, social-media age neo-noir short film, with a witty edge.
