Very emotional read hard topic had to put it down a few times (just reflecting on things) sometimes it seemed a little drawn out but I would still recommend reading it

I shouldn't have read the epilogue, completely ruined the book for me. There were some red flags for me throughout, but the epilogue sealed the deal.

I think it's very odd that throughout theis book the main characters progressively become more and more intertwined while removing themselves from interactions from their other relatives.

To have a dying child and to have her sleeping in the bed with another child each night is wild to me. Esp on a pediatric  ward. That boy would have been allowed to stay duringvisiting hours, but not sleepover.

Rune is allowed to sleep in her bed and her parents took turn sleeping in a visitor room. Just, no. This also continued once she was home and he just essentially dropped out of school the last two months of his life because he was in love 👀?

Also the request for her to "go home" as he kissed her  is insane. Typically a dying individual is not alert enough in those final hours to be speaking and reminiscing. The author also put a huge weight on the teenage boy to remember the feel of his girlfriends last breath on his lips for the rest of his life.
I feel like that would be remembered as traumatic by him and maybe upsetting to the parents if this was a real event.

It is also odd that on the year anniversary, instead of anyone celebrating Poppy's life, it was just the boyfriend sending her their "kisses"... two of which occured post-intercourse. Idk, it's just off-putting.

But the final straw, for sure, was this man realizing he died, and immediately celebrating the fact that he was with her forever. Fuck his family, career, pets, etc. For 10 years he had a whole life and was thrilled to be dead because he was finally back with the teenage love of his life.

This book was just very much not for me, lol.

This book was utterly heartbreaking and I thought about it for weeks afterwards. The ending was not expected but I felt peace in some weird twisted way. The characters & their love for each other was just everything. I’ve never cried this much at a book.

This book wrecked me. I don’t know the last time I have sobbed while reading a book but the clicker can start over. Ultimately I liked the book. I was worried at one point it was going to get religious on me but it didn’t go that far. If you need me I’ll be sitting here trying to depuff my eyes
