Disclaimer: I did not choose to read this book on my own, it was recommended to me.

Davidson writes his story well, it's just not one I wanted to read. I don't understand how this is considered a love story. A depressing unrealized one maybe. The main story is depressing, the side stories are depressing. I generally read about 100 pages a day. It took me 2 MONTHS to finish this book. I could read about 25 pages and then I had to switch to something more upbeat.

Gut wrenching, brutal, and raw. Such a beautiful story of love. Unforgettable.

It’s a super cool story, love the concept of past lives and the clearly researched yet still emotion-based stories from the past. My favorite part was the “flashback” stories. I think I agree with the other reviews. I read that it just goes on a little too long, with some unnecessary details and some unnecessary focus on sexual things.

I was so surprised by this book. I saw a review saying that it was a great listen as an audiobook so I got myself a copy. I loved this book so much! The narrator does a great job and the characters are all so unique and the storytelling and descriptions… I could just go on and on

😀
i want to give this five stars because of how much i loved it when i first read it, and then reread it - but i feel like i'd need to read it again (it's 2023 as i'm writing this, so the last time i read it was 10 years ago) before i can give it that glowing of a review. especially because when i remember the facts of the events in the books, i can't remember how well they were handled. for example,
after a severe, disabling accident, the main character goes into very specific detail about how he plans to take his own life once he's released from the hospital, which is typically a big, big no-no but his method is so specific that i'm not sure if it would fall into a grey area on reread.
either way, i would hesitate to recommend this book until i double check.
