Not a fan of this storytelling or the characters.

After further consideration, a book that is constantly coming back to my mind deserves closer t0 5 stars.

*Currently angry that I remember nothing of my 3 years of french class material*

Exactly what I needed to read right now, and told in the most beautiful, poetic way. I, too, fell in love with Tatiana and Eugene almost as deeply as they fell for each other.

This was sooo beautiful! As per usual when I adore a book, I think I ended up highlighting practically all of it :') Some exquisite descriptions of falling in love (I would point out my favourite bit but too many spoilers haha). I think the way it ended was great too, although the male protagonist did annoy me a bit at times, he was quite sex-orientated and towards the end he felt a bit pushy?! Most of all, I am really glad that
Spoiler the female protag stuck to her guns!
. I wish I could read enough French to read this in the original!

What a pleasant surprise. The poetry got better as the story progressed. And i thought I wasn't one for poetry, but this proved me wrong. It was beautiful as was the love story, while remaining brutally honest. That's my favorite type of romance. The structure of the plot combined with the narrator was clever and engaging. I would consider a reread.

loved the format of this book so much!!! need to read more novels in verse because they're so good every time :)) i would have liked more 2006 flashbacks and to be honest the lensky thing felt very unnecessary? or not unnecessary but it was very abruptly shoved in there and then suddenly we didn't mention it anymore?? so that was weird and also i am still not sure if we're supposed to know who the narrator was but i disagreed with her a LOT because eugene was a prick and the narrator was obsessed with him
