For me it was a good ending to the duology. It took a few unexpected twist. I really like some of the new side characters.

This book was incredibly disappointing. The first one was definitely better, though they both aren’t written very well.  There was one point where a character said they didn’t want a death to be on another character’s conscious. CONSCIOUS. The typos and grammatical errors really got to me. 

There is a found family schtick, which I usually eat up; however, we really don’t see many interactions between any of the characters.

The sudden connection between Eden and Raven just really made no sense. We never saw them get so close that they would lean their foreheads together for comfort. Also, Kirsi was split from Raven for most of the book, and their relationship was the saving grace for the first book.

I nearly DNF’d. The only reason I continued was so I could rate the book. It was a slog to get through, and most of the actions of consequence happen in the last 20%. The ending felt extremely random to me, and

Eden just went off on her own at the end? Even though her lover died? Even though she had no home? Like she just split from the found family? Wtf.

Also, Raven barely grieves her parents. Like just never thinks of them again?! Egregious.

I have so much more to gripe about, but I don’t really want to spend more time thinking about this book. I’m hoping this won’t put me in a reading slump.

Loved the story, but not how it was executed

This didn't seem as well written as the first book. There was a lot of jumping around (the characters were here but suddenly there, monologue that didn't seem to make sense) and it made this more difficult for me to read. It felt rushed in places, Especially in the end. Enjoyed the story, loved the ending, but not the journey.

A fun ending to a witchy duet.

Starting with dislikes first.

This book dragged on a little, but it was somehow more exciting than the other book. So why is it lower? Well, once again, things felt underdeveloped, especially in terms of romance. I wish we got the Kings POV amidst all the Kirsi and Raven POVs, it would have made a lot of sense.

I’m a lover of the found family trope but because everything moves so fast, I couldn’t see that connection between the characters which left me wanting more.

However, it was a fun book. Much more going on than last time which helped push me along when reading it, it was exciting and tense - kept me on my toes more often than not.

A great ending to a scene series!
