This isn't what I expected after seeing it all over Bookstagram, although I'm not sure why. It's a bit cozy mystery meets "women's fiction". 3 generations of the family of women end up together and then solve a mystery rooted in family secrets and land control. I was mostly entertained, although the lead up to the murder was a bit long and the sheer number of people and red herrings made it drag on a bit. I would read this author again though.

This was cute and fun, but a bit forgettable. I'd describe it as a cozy mystery. I had trouble connecting with the characters and their motivations though and I wish more had been done to develop with relationship between the three generations of women. The mystery was good (but I did find it a bit predictable). I would read another book by Nina Simone if she were to write another.
