janenx01's review against another edition
Right off the bat the book tells you that there is a Big Secret and the family is estranged because of it.
But it is not until the second to last chapter do you find out the whole story. After five or six chapters (I'm a sucker) I realized i was just getting strung along, so I read the end and it was not worth it.
0/10 just a bait and switch over and over. Not for me.

I felt the family drama, and I was intrested in the mystery behind it. However the level of miscommunication and frankly stupid conflict made me mad. There has to be a really strong and solid reason for why a person would completely shun and be this angry at their sister for 30 years, and this explanation felt childish and stupid. We know this all started when the protagonist was 10, but it doesn't make sense that as an adult this character wouldn't realise she might have it wrong.
Also, the character development wasn't very strong.
