Not sure if I'm gonna continue with this. The next four "books" (#5-8) are the story of Beth & Gareth, whom I care not. We'll see..

First of all. I really liked how many plot twist there were in this book. There were some huge ones, which most of them took me by surprise.

Though this book did lack a few things. It was toooo fast paced. I feel like it should have been at least 300 pages, instead it was under 150… So much happened in few pages. Don’t get me wrong. I usually love fast paced book, though this one was just not written like a normal fast paced book. At only 45 pages in it felt like the MC had gone through a whole adventure…

Because of the fast paced story, one of the big plot twist which had a huge effect on the whole story, didn’t really leave me with any reaction. Instead of the expected “Wow” reaction, I was left with “mhm.. okay.”
Why you might ask?
It was just so fast paced that things just HAPPENED. And we didn’t get the buildup for that scene. The scene I’m referring to is the one where Taylor finds out who she is (family wise.) And I did get the same reaction a few other times throughout the book. But sometimes I did get surprised too. It’s a shame considering that the book, story wise, is really good. Especially the plot and characters.

So what was great about this story?
The determination from Leander (MMC) to be with Taylor (FMC). His passion and love shinned through! Especially after the blade scene. No spoilers don’t worry.
I loved the different betrayal through your this book. And trust me, there were many! For ex. we had some who we thought were allies but then traitors, and it was later revealed that they were actually allies. This is just one plot twist but you get the idea. Not to mention who the different characters really were. XD

Ohh and I like Beth and Gareth too. They seem really cute and I Iook forward to read about them in the next books. (The rest of the series is about them as the MC’s.) They are not a couple though (at least yet) though I see the potential for it ;) Who knows if they end up as a couple though. Gareth seemed determined to find his real mate.

Would I recommend you to read this series?
If you are looking for a fun and sweet/spicy read then yes. If you are looking for a epic fantasy world then no. Would you just like to enjoy a short fae book series then yes. I promise a bunch of betrayal throughout the book. And you won’t see them coming.

Below is one spoiler which I have hidden. You can skip it by not clicking on it.
SpoilerI really enjoyed the whole Dark Taylor thing. The writing was absolutely amazing and you could just feel how her thoughts and emotions changed completely in a realistic way. I was blown away by the writing in that scene! She went from hero to anti-hero in no time and it shinned through by the way she acted gruesome and careless.
And I also really liked the determination by Leander when he found out Taylor went to the otherworld. He knew the mountain were going to fall over him. Though he didn’t want to leave. He used his last powers to command his friends to leave while holding his dead lover in his arm while he waited for the mountain to do its job and send him to the otherworld. That fae king knew he couldn’t live without her…. For those of you that clicked on the spoiler sign just to read it. I must disappoint you and tell you that it’s not how the book ends. You will have to read the book to find out XD

There were two epilogues in this book. Yes not one but TWO! The first one is about Taylor and the oblivion dark witch Selene and Delentis… doing some weird stuff in the otherworld woods…. I still have no idea WTF I just read XD
It's literally the weirdest scene that I have read that I can think about that rn…

The next epilogue were darker and ended in a nerve wrecking way. It’s setting the storyline for the next book.

Sad to say that I didn't really care about Taylor's dark reveal or the characters' reactions to it. I'm tapping out. 2.5 stars.

I enjoyed this book. The story line picked up and had me intrigued what was going to happen next. I like the plot and the turn of events. I really enjoyed Taylor and how her story turned out and how everything wrapped up but still left a cliffhanger to read the next book.

Love story complete but cliffhanger for main plot

This was a MEAN end to the story of Taylor and Leander. No pretty bows with a perfect happy ever after. It makes sense in the context of the overarching plot, but I’m still sad.
Taylor had an interesting personal growth arc, but Leander didn’t have much of one. Also, I got a bit annoyed by the plethora of pop culture references in these first 4 books. I get that the FMC is nerdy, but why would she keep using references she knows no one will understand months later?
All together it was a good story

Spice: 3ish scenes

Triggers: violence, horror themes
