✨NETGALLEY REVIEW✨

Mr. Fixer Upper - Lucy Score

✨BLURB:

“It’s a constant battle on set between sexy home renovation reality star grumpy Gannon and his no-nonsense field producer. Paige has zero time for temperamental talent, especially one who acts like being in front of the camera is the last thing he wants.

Mr. Sex in a Toolbelt has made it his mission in life to get a rise out of her, but Paige is a master at locking down her temper. They’re on the road together working long hours fixing houses and changing lives. When cracks in her legendary coolness start to show and sparks fly, Gannon is infatuated and the cameras are there to capture it.

But he’s fallen for pretty packages before and Paige won’t be taken seriously if she’s caught sleeping with the star of her show. She also can’t seem to resist those big, rough hands. Those smoldery hazel eyes. The dimples. The toolbelt. That fiercely protective vibe.

Too bad it’s all about to fall apart.
She never should have trusted him.
He never should have let her go.”

✨THOUGHTS

Dude. I loved this so much. I don’t know why I’m surprised, because I always love everything Lucy Score puts out, but this was so fun! I loved the concept of what the characters do for a living. I LOVED Gannon! He was so flirty and funny. I enjoyed their banter.

I had one itsy bitsy issue, and I’ll be happy to talk to anyone about that privately!

Overall, I’m super excited that this book got a facelift and jumped in my @netgalley shelf. I was able to find more of the author’s backlog and add yet another reason to love her!

Thank you NetGalley, @scorelucy and @read_bloom for allowing me to read this ebook.

Paige is field producer on a renovation reality TV show. She's in constant battle on set with the show's sexy, grumpy star, Gannon. While he is constantly trying to rile her up, she is the master at keeping her temper locked down. But when they spend so much time together fixing houses and changing lives, cracks in her legendary coolness starts to show and sparks fly.
This reality TV coworkers, grumpy sunshine, sexy romance is book 1 in the Fixer duology, and it was so good! I loved the behind the scenes of reality TV setting, and the chemistry and banter between the two MCs were amazing. The third act break up (which actually was more of a halfway break up) was such an overreaction. Gannon keeps trying to explain and she won't let him. It was milked too long. Paige's vision of "well, you've slept with her once, so yeah, you are in a relationship with her" makes no sense to me. Especially when Paige doesn't have the type of backstory that would explain why she would hang on so tight to this feeling. Aaaaaand when the situation turns around on her "it's not the same" somehow. Didn't make sense. She was just stupidly stubborn, and I felt it was just a tool to drag the story out. The book was 400 pages. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a 400-page book if it has substance, but cut the crap in this one and you're left with a 300-page book, which would've been perfectly acceptable. This had me knocking down half star from my rating (and as much as I hated doing it, the break up situation was too annoying for me not to). Otherwise, I absolutely ate this up and loved it!
