This was not what I was expecting.....my fault. It wasn't as good as I was expecting either, but I read through it in a day. It's not a bad book, just not for me.

Entiendo porqué ganó un Premio Alfaguara. La manera en que escribió Juan Gabriel Vásquez esta historia, parece autobiográfica. Todo lo describe como si él mismo fuera Antonio y hubiera vivido personalmente todo lo que leemos.
Quizá en la parte media de la historia fue un poco tediosa y confusa para mí. Me costaba un poco identificar a Maya de sus recuerdos, entonces me tomó mucho más tiempo poder terminar sin perderme tanto.
La recta final sí me gustó bastante. La manera de encajar todo, el cierre que tuvo Antonio en su búsqueda, esa puerta abierta… me devolvió la calidad.
Historia para leerse con paciencia, pero muy interesante.

I liked the writing, but it moved a little slowly. Probably would have enjoyed it more if I’d had more background and historical context.
