A fast-moving urban fantasy with a culinary twist. It's funny without trying too hard, and pushes some urban fantasy tropes into new territory without becoming outright bizarro fiction. The novella length is perfect for a rich story like this—like a dessert that can satisfy in just a few bites. I'll be reading the next one.

Light read but tons of fun. A few typos but note ouch to distract from the writing.

I loved the plot and how it ended. Although i did not like the whole clown part. But i think it is a 3.5 star read.

This was OK-ish. Interesting premise, no doubt about that. Three stars, but it would have been 3.5 if it wasn't for the present tense which is a major pet peeve of mine. Next.

a really quick and easy book, not sure why ive been putting it off for so long. it has a similar feeling to a show like futurama. not that ive watched it. but it the writing feels different than the other things ive read, like a category of its own. im into it. i think my gripe is that its difficult to differentiate the characters at all, at least to me.

It left me wanting less. Less gross-out humor, less jabs thrown at easy targets like fast-food, less reliance on absurdity that wasn't all that absurd. There was almost zero characterization, and the book ends without giving the reader a hint as to how Sin du Jour came to be. I have no desire to read book 2, so if it has characters that live and breathe, and we find out exactly why the restaurant exists, I will never know.

Was there a single reader who did not guess that angels
Spoilertaste like chicken?
