I have so much love for the characters in these books! I love Daine and Numair, and it was wonderful to see some old friends again as well.

Like so many books by Tamora Pierce, Wild Magic focuses on female characters and life in the Kingdom of Tortal. Wild Magic is no exception. Daine is 13-years old, and has a special way with animals, using what is called Wild Magic, something once thought a old wives tale. She learns about it from one of the most powerful mages alive, who takes her as his apprentice while they're still on the road and he's still recovering from what happened to him before they find him. Daine, though, is harboring a secret, one that she knows will change what they think of her.
