So this is one of the cases where I really can't find much wrong with the story, but I just didn't love it.
The characters were great and intriguing. The story was pretty complex and interesting, if not a bit predictable (or at least not much was really surprising).
I don't know if the story had something wrong that I just can't identify or if it was just me that was the problem, and the reason why I just fall in love with this book. I would still recommend it to others, so I'm guessing I'm more the problem than the story. I think this story was more cheesy and sensitively romantic, and less gritty and edgy than I perhaps was in the mood for..

"We both shouted together as his enormous length burrowed all the way in, bumping the wall of my cervix with a sharp luxurious sting"(location 2503). This quote is painful on multiple levels and the perfect microcosm for this novel as a whole.

I both loved and hated the story at the same time. Maybe it’s just my mood, but Neil pissed me off so much. The lamest miscommunication keep them separated for 6 years. They were supposedly madly in love, but one tiny little lie keeps them separated for 6 years!!! 6 years over something he knew the answer for after 9 months. He let her continue on with her life, knowing she wasn’t happy, he wasn’t happy, but his stupid ass pride wouldn’t let him go to her. I mean he ran the security firm with access to any information he needed!! Then, once she knows the truth, she blames herself, full on pity party moping and he says NOTHING. Let’s her feel like crap for chapter and chapters. I hated him so much during this time. Also, there is zero mention of either of them having relations with anyone else during these 6 years, but would have been nice to have some confirmation on this.

So the ending was lovely, and the beginning was lovely, but the middle sucked so much. He FINALLY admits that he could have found her at any time, and that his pride kept him from doing that. Really, true love huh?

This is a very quick read, and any and all comparisons to the preceding books in the series are quite all right with me. :) Language, locations, alpha-guy, beautiful girl, sizzling sex...see, all good things to read more of!

This was a cute interlude before book 4 of Blackstone is released. I loved getting more of Neil and Elaina's story.

While parts of this read were absolutely infuriating (I'm kind of over massive drama due to lack of talking and stupid misunderstandings) I was still pleased with the back story involving these two and how they got their happy ending. I thought the present she gave him was slightly different than what it actually was though so that bummed me out a little too. Every girl needs a man like Neil.

Que libro tan conmovedor y hermoso!!!!
Está llenísimo de amor. Una vez más, Raine Miller nos muestra lo increíble que es al escribir historias de amor.

I simply adore Raine Miller's writing!!! And she certainly did not disappoint with this one. Loved learning more about Neil, he is my kind of guy, tough as nails on the outside, but a big, fluffy marshmallow on the inside!!!!

4.5 Stars

Muy predecible, pero aún así no dejo de ser lindo.
Un poco empalagoso en algunas escenas.

Awww. Neil y Elaina se robaron el lugar que ocupaban Ethan y Brynne en mi corazón ♥.
