When reading please acknowledge my grammar is not the best as I am dyslexic.

3* as this book was very Cliche, and it’s not something I would passionately recommend for someone to read, and parts of it felt very forced. I didn’t necessarily love the main Tillar, I found her abit annoying tbh. The Arguments and stuff all felt a bit pointless,

But the way he confidence was promoted was beautiful, I love how she owed every part of her body. There were some LOL moments aswell.

I think the book is struggling to decide if it is a YA and an adult novel.

But in the end it made me smile and feel good, which I guess was the overall aim.

A Disney Princess at Heart

As a forever Disney Princess this was a really great “remake”/ modern take. I would have liked a little more heat, but overall I really enjoyed it. If someone ever creates the Black version of Hallmark that I keep begging for, this has GOT to be on there!

I did not enjoy this book. You can tell by how long it took me to read it.

I love reading re-tellings of fairytales but the inconsistencies of the characters is what I didn't like. PLEASE read my notes and highlights because I went into depth of the inconsistencies that took place.

I can't get behind the trope of female jealousy over a man, a woman having the "strength" to defend herself over a man or prove another woman wrong but can't defend herself outside of that.

I guess I'm at the point in my life where self-care, self-awareness, and confidence.

I wanted to fall in love with the "romance story" but it confirmed the never-ending trope of going through conflict then falling in love.

I am disappointed that I have the other 2 books, they were cheap, but I have no interest in finishing this series anytime soon.

I finished reading this book in about a day and a half. As a fellow "thickerella" myself, reading a story about one of us getting a happy ending warmed my heart. There has always been a debate about whether two hurt people can thrive together in a relationship. I think this story begs that question. I also think this story did well highlighting how mothers can be jealous of their daughters while coddling their toxic sons. The only con I have about this book were the lack of trigger warnings. This story needed trigger warnings for verbal and physical abuse, as well as bullying. It was very triggering to read this as a plus-size woman who has experienced severe verbal abuse and bullying from a parent. Overall, I did enjoy this story and can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Not what I expected

I was very close to DNFing with this book I swear. I HATED the main character Tillar. While I understood what she dealt with as far as her toxic ass family she wasn’t much better herself. Just mean and manipulative for no reason sometimes. I wanted to tell “STAND UP” at Cam so many times it was ridiculous. I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn’t.

I finished reading this book in about a day and a half. I was glued to it as it was definitely a page-turner. As a fellow "thickerella" myself, reading a story about one of us getting a happy ending warmed my heart. Tillar was a fantasti character. She was confident, did what she wanted without apology, knew who she was and what she wanted/deserved, had standards and boundaries that she was unapologetic about, the list goes on. I also realized that Tillar is the woman I'm trying to be. As far as Cam, I think his character speaks for itself because WHEW! He was absolutely amazing, a real-life prince charming that I think we all deserve and want. On another note, I do feel like Tiller may have needed to take time to heal a little more. Some parts of the book revealed that she had trust issues to work through. For a minute, I thought her and Cam's relationship would take a turn for the worst because of it. I also feel that Cam needed to do some further healing as well. There has always been a debate about whether two hurt people can thrive together in a relationship. I think this story begs that question. I also think this story did well highlighting how mothers can be jealous of their daughters while coddling their toxic sons. The only cons I have about this book are the grammar and lack of trigger warnings. There were a lot of run-on sentences that sometimes made it difficult and confusing to read. There were also no trigger warnings. This story needed trigger warnings for verbal and physical abuse, as well as bullying. It was very triggering to read this as a plus-size woman who has experienced severe verbal abuse and bullying from a parent. If you have experienced any of this as a woman, especially as a plus-size woman, at the hands of your mother or mother figure, I don't recommend you read this book. Overall, I did enjoy this story and can't wait to read the rest of this series.
