I loved everything about this book. I bought it thinking it was a funny/cozy mystery type book from the title, but, by the time I figured out that wasn't the case, I was already so invested I didn't care it wasn't what I had expected. I had to keep reading.

This is one I will be reading again. And maybe again. And I'm not even a big vampire book fan, but I am a big fan of this one.

Update- I immediately did a re-read on Audible. The Audible version is FANTASTIC. Still five stars. :)

thought it was pretty good, i liked most of the characters or at least cared about their well-being but it didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat or anything! solid book for sure recommend it, but it’s not life changing

1.5 stars just because the writing itself was decent and easy to read, but i did not like the content.

i got through the first quarter pretty easily, but as the book progressed i got angrier and angrier with the content. Patricia, the main character, is constantly abandoned, embarrassed, and gaslit by both her friends and the men in her life. i had to put the book down so many times out of frustration.

the author also uses rape for shock value. but guess what? it did absolutely nothing for the plot and could have been omitted completely. personally, i believe that you don’t have to have one of your characters get sexually assaulted to write a scary, unsettling horror novel.

this book was written by a man, and it shows in his description of friendships between women, and motherhood.

It wasn’t my style of book. I found the characters kind of irritating and grating on the nerves.  It just wasn’t for me, no offense to the author or anyone who liked it.
