This novella showed true and slow character development. Rather pleasant than entertaining to read. It's just okay overall. But some things need to be said:
- Lily going to therapy was NEEDED. Everybody say "thank you Rose"
- let's say interesting spicy scenes
- a bit too much Lily time that can feel annoying some parts but intimate on others
- the Ryke × Daisy situation is worrisome. I don't know what you need to take to find this cute but building a relationship between a 16 and 22 year old is risky. To say the least
- Daisy is such an fascinating character ngl but the eating disorder situation made me uncomfortable as well as her "friend" group
- Connor. WHERE WAS HE. I need the daily dose of the confident smart douchebag

-> I need to give heads up to the authors, very courageous to publish a novella that focuses on needed but maybe dragging development.

I want to love Lo without people telling me that our love is too much.

i am just breezing through this series, i'm obsessedddd.

normally, i get annoyed when mc's are split up and there's a lot of flashback scenes, but i think in the context of the story it really worked to help build the background to their relationship and made sense for what's happening. first book focused on the oblivious pining, this book hones in on their friendship over the years, which i feel like is only further cementing me rooting for them. and the present-time scenes w lo's dirty talk 🥵

again, connor provided some excellent comedic relief and stole the show, i'm loving his & rose's relationship. the only thing i didn't love in this book is the age difference between daisy & ryke and some of their conversations/bordering flirting that felt pretty inappropriate considering. i have seen that the authors say they wish now they had aged her up so i won't trip over it too much.

while i'm relieved these romance books are shorter, that abrupt end definitely has me running to the next book!

“You don’t make me miserable. You make me want to live. And I want to live with you.”

TW explanations: I tagged ‘domestic abuse’ as the mom hits Rose’s cheek in a brief scene (I wasn’t sure what else you’d tag that as). I also tagged ‘eating disorder’ as it’s mentioned that Daisy’s weight is being tracked by her mom including on her birthday (!!)

This book wasn’t bad. It’s 16 chapters so it’s pretty short and not a lot happened. But I loved seeing Lily get a therapist/the help she needs and can have someone to talk about it with. I know therapy has helped me a lot with my problems. Like another reviewer said, this book is somehow necessary and not necessary at the same time lol

It confirmed for me what I already knew: that the Calloway sisters’ mom is a terrible person and I really wish her daughters would go no contact but hey, I’m not the girls.

Also I skimmed/skipped the flashback scenes, I didn’t find them interesting🤷‍♀️
