This did not need to be over 500 pages. It was really starting to drag leading up to the conflict. The conflict itself was also pretty stupid. I don’t like miscommunication and there was a good amount of that in this book.

the plot of this book isn’t terrible. has it been done before? absolutely. but what made me really not enjoy reading this was just the bad writing. there is WAY too much emphasis on how small & short olivia is. like way too much. there also a lot of unnecessary smut multiple chapters in a row. i also hated how much carter talked about wanting to hook up with olivia. it just made their connection less genuine to me (and it happens a lot!) he ruins almost every heartfelt moment by talking about sex eventually. also, to me, it made no sense how the mmc who had never been in a relationship before was the more mature one in the relationship and was written as if he had a lot of experience in love/therapy. and why is the book SO long???? i don’t know if i’ll continue reading this series lol. (p.s. i loved hank, cara & adam!!!)

i’d rather read a 900k self insert fanfiction written by an 11 year old than suffer one more reference to “the sword of thunder”

this was cute af.
the 3rd act thingy was totally unnecessary - authors should know that we're ok with fluff and just reading fluff. Was also a little bit longer than what it needed to be, but damn. this was cute!

Uhm give me a Carter please!? It took me some time to get in this story but when I did I couldn't stop reading. I really loved the story of Carter and Olivia. I cried multiple times.. I really loved the developmemt of their relationship. I can't wait for book two in this series.

This book was more love at first sight than slow burn, with a player that changes his ways. I did get bored halfway through as they already got together, but the conflict part is a bit of a TW as someone takes the MMC phone and takes the nude photos of the FMC and blackmails them with it. It was unnecessary and uncomfortable for me to read. Other than that, it was a cute read.
