Fascinating read. The author spent time in Japan in the 1920s, then as a prisoner of war (POW) during World War II in the 1940s, then visited Japan again in the 1960s. What touched me most is his respect and admiration for Japan: it's people and the country in general. Though the book is dated (written over 50 years ago), it does give a glimpse of what Japan was like from his perspective after WWII.
