I put off reading this book for so long and I wish I hadn't. For some reason, I thought it was about something completely different. It was a really good read and I finished it in just a few days (which is fast for me). I really enjoyed and related to Alaska and the other characters.

I decided to re-read this for the first time since middle school, as it was one of my favorites back then. I loved it just as much the second time around. 
I would still recommend it to young adults today. During middle school, I remember feeling the magnitude of consequences for everyone's decisions. I think it taught me valuable lessons during an impressionable age.
