I can see why this series has such a hold on the Gen-Z crowd. If I had had access to these books when they were being released (I became aware of them when they got big and was a t00-cool-for-school-teen by then), I would have had my brain rewired by them too. This is a fast-paced read, I loved the fact the main character is considered a Bad Kid at school, the dialogue is witty and lovely to read, and I really had a fun time reading it.

It was a nice story and even though Percy goes through a lot of stuff in this book it felt cozy and I'll definitely continue the series.

But damn he's just 12... Poor kid

This was so fun!  The perfect light read for me at the moment.  It’s got dynamic friendships, magic, mystery, betrayal, modern day NYC & LA references, and Greek mythology, what more could you want?!

I wish I read this back when I was in middle school!

I've been meaning to read this since before the first movie came out and now that I've already seen the second, I think my delving into this series is long overdue. Since I'd already seen the film, I had an idea of what to expect. As is often the case, however, the book was definitely better and I think Rick Riordan does an excellent job of delivering Percy's first-person narrative. I'm very much looking forward to the next book.
